Worth to stay

I do appreciate the staff friendliness and helpfulness, especially David. He makes sure to ask and help addressing even the simple things other hotels' receptionist used to dismiss. The room has its own wifi and the quality of the internet is great. The lighting is great, at first I thought the lamps will be too bright but eventually I found how to adjust it so I can set the atmosphere of the room, I prefer dim and warm lighting. The AC works so well. The bathroom is clean and the hot water works. I am amazed by how this hotel provides information of swimming pool pH and chlorine level; another small thing that matters. I can't give you review about the foods since I don't order one and I booked room with no breakfast. The security happens to be friendly and always check for cars which passing by the building; another small things that create feeling of safety. The hotel is located near big groceries store, KFC, shopping center and restaurants (in walking distance around 10 minutes).

The parking lots. It is tight and slightly make me uncomfortable to navigate.

Adequate for my needs

Great view, especially from the deluxe queen sea view room. A generous sized room with a comfortable bed. Great location, if you need some peace and quiet but don't wanna be too far from the city centre. Speedy check-in and check-out process. Fantastic staff, though a few obviously still need trainings in hospitality. I also appreciate that various people from the management team would actively look for feedbacks from the guests during breakfast (please keep that going and, most importantly, please take all the feedbacks seriously).

Lack of healthy breakfast choices, breakfast knives are only made available upon request (I still don't understand why), no hand towels inside the bathroom, and the fact that this hotel is still not committed to limiting its environmental impact (no matter how small), e.g. the use of plastic water bottles instead of providing reusable water jugs or the use of plastic laundry bags instead of providing a laundry bin, etc.

A great choice for value and location

cheerful breakfast, refreshing pool, very friendly supportive staff. The security and ease of check in and the room service and regular towel change was goood, nice small TV channels choice

The hotel is located near malls and restaurants.

Best western still uses couple of bottles water a day in the room as complementary, in order to reduce the use of plastic in Sulawesi could best western use central water tap points and a glass karaf in the room as refill.

Breakfast is similar to Ibis. Little worse. But more choices. The pool is reasonable

If no pool necessary, Ibis is better. Sure, Best Western and Ibis are the only comfortable including western breakfast. If you like fried noodles or rice for breakfast I would recommend S Loft

great value hotel

i love the view from my room, room was clean, the staff are very friendly (probably the most friendly staff Hotel in Manado based on my experience) , the location was perfect near transmart, indomaret, and close to food stalls

the breakfast was very disappointing, the quality of food was poor. no stall for omelette/scramble egg, you have to brew your own coffee.

Only the view is 4 stars

Great scenic view over Manado bay and Manado Tua.

The hotel, facilities, service and breakfast is only 3 stars. 1. The service is much to slow and very unorganized. 2. The facilities are good looking at the first spot, but if you go closer you can see the cracks. Like the water in the shower is not really hot, there is always a bad smell in the bathroom TV was not working well (backlight broken), freezer not cooling, etc. 3. Breakfast was not filled up after 9am even its still open for one more hour. Staff completely helpless by a higher number of guests.. not well organized. 4. Worst: If you using your credit card of guaranteed reservation they will block the amount on your credit card up to two weeks even you payed already with another card. Thats like paying double and a absolute no-go.

Good discussion with the PR staff. But, there is a lot of room for improvement regarding the buffet breakfast, first and foremost that unless you are there at opening time, a lot of the bowls, plates, etc are empty, leaving little choice, and there seems to be no urgency for restaurant staff to refill them. After 1 or 2 tour groups goes through, most of the selections are gone. This was the same problem for each of our 7 mornings there.

As above the buffet breakfast needs improvement, more support staff, more variety in food choices. eg. there was no meat selection like chicken sausage, or any dim sum dishes, etc. Spotlighting a different local Manado type meal each morning would proudly show your tourist guests the typical local cuisine. The other negative at the Lagoon is limited elevator access to the 2nd floor lobby from the GF, and no assistance with bags upon arrival. There should be alternate stair but secure access provided between the GF and 2nd floors, to supplement the busy elevators. Now guests are on their own to get their suitcases and luggage up to the check-in counter - not good.

Breakfast was average, service at restaurant and room service was very slow. Took over 45 minutes to get lunch and I was the only person in the restaurant!! Demanded that room service was paid on the spot and not added to room charges to pay on check out. Pool was booked out for a function so was not available to hotel guests.

Great hotel/view but very slow and bad service – disappointing for the last stop of our honeymoon.

The location and the view of the ocean is great – if the service was the same we'd definitely come back. The breakfast buffet selection was good.

The room was supposed to be ready at 2pm. When we arrived several hours later the room still wasn't ready and the employees at the check-in kept us waiting forever until the room was finally ready at 5.40pm (!) and obviously had just been cleaned quickly but not properly – mirrors & the window were still dirty etc. Also 3 out of 5 power outlets in the room were not working, but the worst part was the door to a connecting room which was locked but has a huge gap that gives anybody in the next room a perfect view of the bed (see photos below) incl. the employees who kept cleaning/working in the neighbor room for another 2 hours after we checked in. In the ~22 hours we spent in the room reception called the phone in our room at least 5 times (first they forgot to complete the payment process when we checked in so they sent somebody to the room with a credit card reader that wasn't working, then several minutes after breakfast when we wanted to go back to sleep for a bit somebody called to ask for "feedback on the breakfast buffet" and finally shortly after the regular checkout time at 12pm they called again several times and the cleaning crew tried to open the door (when the "please do not disturb" sign was on!) although they had agreed to let us stay until 2pm at check-in as a small compensation for the room being ready almost 4 hours too late. At check-in we reserved a table with view of the sea for breakfast. Of course this table was occupied with other guests the next morning with no apology from the employees who seemed not to care at all. You also can't take coffee/tea yourself and have to wait for somebody to refill your cup which took quite a while since the 10-15 employees in the restaurant kept walking past our table 5 times and were busy talking to each other instead of looking after the guests.
